I’ve always said how quickly time goes by - even when it seems as if the days can’t go quickly enough at the time. In August of last year, I was packing up my belongings and moving to mine and my husband’s first home in Biloxi, Mississippi. And just a few weeks ago, I was packing up our house in Mississippi to move all of our things back up north. It seems like I just got here yesterday, but today marked a week since I’ve been back in Indiana. It feels wonderful to be back home.. just the way the air smells and the feeling of not being suffocated by humidity. As soon as we hit Indianapolis, it’s like I let out a sigh of relief - even though Biloxi became home, it couldn’t take the place of where I lived my first 22yrs.
Cameron was extremely busy throughout his training so I wasn’t able to spend very much time with him (at least not altogether) until recently. He got here last Wednesday night and we’ve just been completely tangled up in each other.. gah, I just love it. The days that he doesn’t have to work we lie in bed, cuddle, watch movies, and just talk about anything and everything. I don’t think we’ve laughed like this in a long time; it feels incredible being back in his arms and in his company. It’s pretty crazy how much training takes out of him. I’m glad that he’s finally operational and that we’ll have some time to breathe. We have awhile before we have to go to his next duty station, though, so we’re thankful for some extra time off together! He’s doing RAP right now then taking 2wks of leave on top.. I don’t think he’ll be leaving here until the middle of June. We’re pretty excited (okay, okay, I’m pretty excited, haha) because we found 15+ townhouses/duplexes that we want to look at around the base. A lot of them are so, so nice and they accept pets! We want to take our dog, Alexis, with us, but she’s Pitbull mix.. y’all know how complexes are with the word “Pitbull” so we were worried about being able to take her. Since the majority of the places we’re looking at are family owned, a lot of them are willing to allow her because her papers actually say she’s a Boxer mix! Oh, but back to the “so, so nice” part. The few that I’m in love with have a similar set up to our house in Biloxi - they’re 2 story duplexes.. and a few of them are 3 story townhouses. I just don’t want to be in a 1br apartment! Especially since we want family to be able to come and stay with us.. and not have to sleep on the couch. I’m trying to convince Cameron to take me to see the base and look at houses while he’s on leave ;]
I have a few other things on my mind, but I’ll leave it at that. I should probably sleep on my feelings before I say something I’ll regret. Night, night. ♥
And oh my word, he is the sweetest little thing! When I first got there, I picked him up and said, “Hi punkin!” He just smiled so big.. gah, I just love him already!!
P.S. Sorry I haven’t been on much! I made it to momma’s last night and I’ve been exhausted. I’m in the process of finding an internet provider for them so hopefully it won’t be much longer until they have internet and I’ll be back. :]
I can’t believe that we don’t live in Biloxi anymore.. so weird.
Yesterday was so stressful! I was in an awful mood because Cameron didn’t get released to come help until an hour before we had to have our house completely cleaned out for the cleaning company. Our house was huge.. so yeah, I was just a bit upset. We just barely finished before they got there.. and only because one of the ladies got into a car accident on the way (everyone was okay!). So yeah, Cameron and I could have killed each other yesterday. But we didn’t, of course. We’re both definitely glad that’s over with! But it’s our first PCS (and first huge move) so we’re learning everything. I’m in Tennessee and have about 10hrs before I’ll be back to momma’s house. And Cam started outprocessing today and will (hopefully) be home Thursday!
He was put on a 10p-10a shift tonight and I just hate it. I have a horrible time falling asleep without him in bed. Only a week until our little vacation begins.. I can’t wait!! Soon we’ll be falling asleep and sleeping in together. ♥
